"Pioneers are the first to see it and the last to be seen." --MARE 139

Last night Carlos MARE 139 Rodriguez exhibited his sculptural works that span the decades at the opening of "Freestyler Archityper: A Structural Intervention" at Raw Space Gallery on 11th Avenue in Chelsea. The artist's proves his oeuvre expands beyond writing on the sides of subways cars and on the streets of NYC. MARE 139, a graffiti pioneer in the early NYC street art scene, presents his sculptural skills in the said exhibition. Incorporating the wild style elements of arrows we see the fusion of his graffiti roots and sculptural precision in his installation pieces. Just a night of rubbing shoulders with Fab 5 Freddy and some great street artists from NYC's heyday. Thanks for the invite Mel.

Also peep Mel D. Cole's photos from the night @ VILLAGESLUM
