Lunar New Year & Gaia x P371K

About the mural: The week began with two classes of workshops with a handful of students selected from both the main site and SPHS and then extended outwards into the parking lot area with a couple days of hands-on painting adjacent to ELLE’s mural, which was completed in October. Several students from the workshop were selected as subjects in the mural and they are holding ancient places of learning and repositories of analog information: contemporary P371K, University of Qarawiyyin, Library Celsus, and Sankore Madrasah, respectively from left to right. The last image is that of a laptop and Little Owl (Athene Noctua) of Athena: the former representing the power of self-education through the Internet in the age of Google, and, the latter, a symbol of wisdom and learning in modern Western culture.
